soundhoppers.com

SoundHoppers is a sound exploration and attentive listening workshop for children aged 5-11.

They use a series of gamified listening exercises to explore various aspects of sound – whether that’s proximity (how far or close a sound is), timbre (the tonality and type of sound), or volume (how loud or quiet a sound is).

Children are given access to specially constructed soundboxes, transducers and other sound-generating devices to explore how sound travels through various materials and objects, and how people experience sound differently.

Delivered by Modus Arts.
Modus Arts draw on interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches to developing public-facing sound-based artworks and events. In 2023 they became a National Portfolio Organisation with Arts Council England.
